International Partners are international organizations, think tanks and universities which endorse and promote the Abraham Path and provide research, practical or financial assistance to the Abraham Path Initiative and its regional partners.

Tetraktys is an NGO founded by three French alpine organizations in 1994. It specialises in rural development programmes across the world with a focus on adventure and nature tourism. Tetraktys emphasises community-driven models of development where local actors are at the heart of each project.

Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics

A center which aims to educate about enjoying the outdoors responsibly. Their seven “leave no trace” principles have become the international standard for outdoor adventure and leadership programs. The Abraham Path aims to educate about and implement these principles along the path.

Together with the UK Friends of Abraham’s Path, Leeds Metropolitan University has offered student exchange and volunteer opportunities which support communities along the Abraham Path.

Abraham Path Friends around the World

Stichting Abraham Path Initiative works with Friends Groups across the globe. Around the world Friends of the Abraham Path are independent groups, organized as not-for-profit organizations or charities, which gather volunteers inspired by the path within a single country or part of a country. Abraham Path Friends focus on promoting education and awareness on the project, stimulating and organizing travel to the path from their own communities, and organizing fundraising events to develop the path further.

Current Friends Groups

  • Brazil Friends,called Caminho de Abraão, have taken the lead in establishing a model that supports cultural exchange activities for groups to travel on the Abraham Path, organizing a Friendship Run in the city of Sao Paulo, seminars, and photo exhibits that connect their community to the path.
  • The UK Friends of the Abraham Path is dedicated to inspiring UK walkers to travel on the Abraham Path. The UK Friends have worked with Leeds University in organizing student exchanges on the on the path.
  • Spanish volunteers from Barcelona and Madrid have successfully formed a Spanish Friends Group, Amigos del Camino de Abraham. They are presently working to organize the first trip to the path with Spanish students and have developed a beautiful presence online.
  • The Amici Italiani del Cammino di Abramo has developed a website to promote the trail in Italy.

Future Friends Groups

There are presently volunteers working on establishing Friends Groups in California, Canada, Chile and Italy. Contact us if you would like to help start a new Friends Group in your country.
